Island Grove Wine Company
Blueberries have been in Sarah Aschliman’s life since early childhood. When she was 4, her family began small in the industry with a u-pick farm. Over three decades, it expanded into a large agricultural endeavor, encompassing 350+ acres of blueberries, a plant nursery, and a winery.
Throughout college, she excelled creatively, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Miami University of Art & Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. She was a member of the Delta Epsilon Iota Honors Society and the Graphic Design Honors Classes.
Following graduation, she began a career in the toy industry and worked on award-winning creative development, packaging, and consumer product branding for Disney, Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, and other companies. Aschliman spent 10 well-loved years in the toy industry, still a proud member of the international organization Women in Toys and currently serving as the board’s Design Chair.
Aschliman had also created a new brand identity that brought her back to her agricultural roots: Island Grove Wine Company. Under its parent company, Island Grove Ag Products, the winery debuted on the market in 2010 with its first vintage of blueberry wine. Aschliman is now the winery’s General Manager, continuing to learn and grow in the blueberry industry. Additionally, she is the co-owner of a 40-acre commercial blueberry farm in Arcadia, Florida, along with her husband Chris, her cousin Lisa, and Lisa’s husband Jerod. She has been liaison editor for Blueberry News, published by the Florida Blueberry Growers Association, as well as a member of this organization, for several years.
Aschliman is excited about the blueberry and wine business in Florida, and strives to grow and share wonderful products from The Sunshine State.
